Tulips, Elves, & Fairies
The Tulip Fairy Festival took place on Sunday, April 3rd this year. Boulder, CO was graced with 70 degree temps and clear blue skies. After having quite the snowstorm the week before, the warm weather and sunshine was a nice welcome. Let’s hope it is here for good! Children, parents, and a few dogs were decorated in their fairy wings and head pieces to celebrate the spirit of the tulips. Stage performers, face painters, live music, foam sword dueling, and a fairy parade were just a few of the events that took place on this fun filled day.
As I have posted in the past, Downtown Boulder is known for its abundance of tulips that line the center of Pearl Street in the spring. Even though there was only one small area where the tulips were in bloom on Sunday, there was plenty of bright spring colors to get everyone in the mood for the changing of the seasons and the children were adorable, as usual!
If you weren’t able to make it to the Tulip Fairy, & Elf Festival this year here are a few moments I was able to capture…
There were tons of events happening during the festival. The audience was mesmerized by Mark Stampfle and his acrylic ball contact juggling. If you’ve never seen this, check him out. Kids were getting their faces painted and playing with large bubble wands. There was a balancing act that was unbelievable. Everywhere you looked there was a fairy sprinkling fairy dust on a child and to top it off, the day ended with a fairy parade down the Pearl Street Mall!
